Greetings friends. Welcome to the Dr. Yo Zone. I'm an interdisciplinary artist who makes computer animation, video art, and electronic music. Although my work is very experimental, it draws upon the long tradition of an art form known as visual music. My art can be described as psychedelic, but I like to call it trance formative. When I say "psychedelic," I don't refer to some dated concept of illusory bliss. Rather, I summon the ghost of surrealism, with its noble goal of liberating the unconscious. Using high technology, I hope to access the contents of the collective psyche to further the process of evolution. High-sounding words, granted, but the process of individuation through technology is an ideal way to transcend the ego in the "information age." And that leads to an evolution of consciousness, even beyond homo sapiens. And, while our ultimate goal may simply be to design our own successors, every moment of our lives is filled with meaning -- if we so choose. My particular path to enlightenment is leading me through cyberspace. Along the way, I'm sure to meet a few kindred souls, and I hope that you are one of them.
